Basic Facts Graph Term 1 and 2.

This graph shows the progress made by students over Terms 1 and 2 with their Basic Facts Tests. The aim is for students to become automatic with their knowledge of Addition and Subtraction to 20, and Multiplication and Division to 100 by the end of year 6. The Horouta waka

 Dear chief

There has been fighting about who should leave and go on the horouta waka . Please send me on the waka, these are my reasons why.

Firstly, I have good eyesight so if the sea pattern changes I will report it. If there are seagulls I will tell someone. If the clouds have a slight change of colour of green or any other colour I will tell someone.

Secondly, I can fish, I have experience at fishing and I have the equipment to fish. I have caught fish in the past.

Thirdly, what good am I on an island? I am not good at hunting, I will miss my shots and probably get killed while hunting.

Don’t think about  keeping me because there are no other fishes on the Horouta waka.

So please send me on the waka you’re the best chief so surely you will let me go on the horouta waka.

Do you know what football is?

By Micah Searle

Football is a sport that was created in 1863. There are 2 goals and 1 ball and a battle with no hands. The point of the game is to score into the opposition's goal without them scoring in yours.

To begin the game you will do paper scissors rock, whoever wins gets to start with the ball. The middle striker or the captain will either boot it down the field, but a better decision is to pass to one of your teammates.

Have you ever seen a footballer cross it to one of their teammates when they're right in front of the goal. That’s because they’re crossing it. You do this by dribberling it up the side and then passing it to one of your teammates that are right in front of the goal, then you just hope they score.

If you score you can do a celebration dance. For instance you might slide on your knees or anything really.

At the end of the game you will get in line with your team and high 5 the other team's hand and say good game.

That is how you play football.

My goal is to add detailed sentences and use paragraphs where they need to be.

Historical recount writing

Hone heke was born in 1807. We he turned 5 his father knew he would be cheeky and taking things to far.

When he turned 27 his uncle paddled a waka over to a strange dodgy land, eventually he made peace and got guns from them they said “ Come back for more if you need more ammo.” Of course he did not understand them so he just went of in his waka.

When he finished crossing back home he tried the first gun it was jammed from the water that splashed up into the waka he tried the next that one didn’t work either, he tried ten guns before one worked.

His uncle put the guns in a sack and dragged the all the way up to his village.

The day after he gave his men each a and they went around slaughtering the other villages near by. He lost no men because of the guns. After a day of slaughtering they returned to the village.

13 years later was the signing of the treaty of waitangi. In those 13 years Hone heke helped his uncle murder other people and tribes. So back to treaty, he was the first to sign the treaty, an influence to the other chiefs,Yet again he took the signing of his protection and future as a game and a joke.

Hone heke’s place of birth is pakaraka, he got married to a lovely women named Hariata Rongo.

After 3 years of marriage Hone heke had 2 kids named Hoani who is a boy and marianne who is a girl. His full name is Heke pokai.

Through 7 years of happy marriage he died, which is on fact ten year after the signing of the treaty. Heke’s bones were hidden in a cave the cave was in umatakiura near pakaraka in northland.
